Finding the Words When They Won’t Come

Every song starts with that one tiny, stubborn spark—maybe it’s a late-night text that stayed on your mind, the way a room felt right before you left it, or a story you’ve been carrying around but haven't quite found the words for. Here at Singer Stories, we’re firm believers that everyone has a song worth telling, even if the gap between what you’re feeling and what’s on the page feels impossible to cross.

We built this Lyric Assistant to act as a sounding board when the room is too quiet. Whether you’re staring down a serious case of writer’s block or just need a new way to look at a theme you’ve written about a dozen times, think of this as your digital co-writer. From stripped-back indie folk to big, cinematic ballads, it’s just here to help make sure your story actually gets heard.

A Few Thoughts on Making These Lyrics Your Own

Now that you have some lines on the screen, remember: these are just the starting point. The best songs are the ones that feel lived-in. Here’s how we usually take a draft and make it feel real:

  • Swap the details: If the AI writes about a "blue car" but you remember a "beat-up silver sedan," change it. Those specific, gritty details are what make people believe your story.
  • Say it out loud: Sometimes a line looks great on paper but feels like a tongue-twister when you try to sing it. If you’re tripping over the words, trim them down. Songs need room to breathe.
  • Don't be afraid to cut: If the AI gives you three verses but you only love two lines from the second one, throw the rest away. Those two lines might be the "hook" you’ve been looking for all week.

At the end of the day, songwriting is a craft. Use this tool to spark an idea, but let your own voice be the one that finishes the story. We can't wait to hear what you come up with.
