As per Billboard news Grace VanderWaal Finds Inspiration in Lost Letters, a Puppy & an Open Field in 'So Much More Than This' Video.
Billboard covered Grace Vanderwaal’s news so beautifully all the time. This article credit goes to “Billboard”.
Grace VanderWaal's mature voice may trick anyone into thinking she's at least 30 years old, but she's only 13, and her new video for "So Much More Than This" reminds us all that she's still a kid. Grace VanderWaal, who was recently honored with the Billboard Women in Music Rising Star Award, conveys her childlike enthusiasm in the video.
She begins inside, visibly bored and agitated as she tries in vain to write a song, crumpled pages of dead ideas piling up next to her. She walks into the studio, presumably to record "So Much More Than This," only to break out (literally) and find herself on a brilliant green open field.
With so much more to discover, she takes off running. She notices purple smoke rising in the distance and pursues it to see a dog rushing toward her (which happens to be her real-life puppy, Frankie). Frankie continues to follow VanderWaal as she explores, eventually discovering a chest full of long-lost notes.
"Happiness is...being the ultimate you at all times, no matter what anyone else thinks. - Autumn Lyle."
VanderWaal rests atop a giant collapsed tree trunk, inspired by what she has discovered, finally able to write and adequately express herself. Despite the fact that it was all in her head, the video finishes with VanderWaal returning to the studio, happy and ready to record.
