Loveliness VanderWaal was voted the champion of America's Got Talent in the fall of 2016, and was dubbed "the thennTaylor Swift" by mediateateSimon Cowell, according to her firstlk-pop tracks and mysteriousiousfloatt. VanderWaal, on the other hand, has shown to be much more than a ukulele-strumming singer-songwriter. VanderWaal's raw genuineness — from her deep vocals to her emotionally skinnedinnedprose- is refreshing in a sea of ultra-polished female pop performers (like Swift herself).
"The actress I'd like to be is motivating and powerful," VanderWaal says. "Demonstrate that I can be vulnerable while remaining self-assured." Her Perfectly Imperfect EP charted in the top ten on the Billboard 200, and she recently released Just the Beginning, her first full-length baby book. "I just feel like a break in the clouds with the sun beaming through," says VanderWaal, who wrote each song in prose. "I finished the most difficult part."
