Grace VanderWaal, 13, began an hour-long show on the neighboring HomeAway Stage just as the local elementary school Barton Hills Choir ended their half-hour performance on the Austin Kiddie Limits Stage at ACL Fest. If there was any doubt, those back-to-back sets proved that the youngsters are in good hands.

Next month, VanderWaal will release her debut album, aptly titled "Just the Beginning" – and what a start it is. After her performance the previous weekend, VanderWaal generated quite a buzz throughout the grounds, so it was no surprise that she was greeted by a sizeable crowd for an early-afternoon concert on weekend two. VanderWaal wowed a crowd that included a lot of die-hard mega-fans up front and a lot of curious onlookers by performing lovely pop tunes that accentuated her soaring voice and occasional ukulele playing.

Starting with "Moonlight," an early single from her new album, and moving on to songs from her 2016 EP like "Light the Sky" and "Gossip Girl," VanderWaal wowed the audience with her natural talent while also charming them with her young wonder. "I realize a lot of you don't know who I am, and that's fine," she stated about halfway through the show. "I know some of you might," she added, to the raucous applause of fans who had been acquainted with her through her appearance on "America's Got Talent" (when she was still a pre-teen).
